The new version of the e-Tax Office is now available to taxpayers – both individuals and entrepreneurs. The E-Tax Office system eliminates the need to handle paper documents and facilitates communication with tax offices. The biggest advantage of the new version of the platform is the ability to check what our current settlements with the tax office look like and whether we are in arrears with any tax.

E-Tax Office – what is it?

The e-Tax Office IT system was introduced in 2022 as part of the process of automating the taxpayer’s communication with the tax office. e-Tax Office is a modern, publicly available communication channel available at podatki.gov.pl. It allows you to handle tax matters quickly and conveniently, without visiting the tax office. The use of this system has become obligatory for companies, foundations, and associations from June 23, 2023.

Through the e-Tax Office system you can, among others: obtain a certificate confirming lack of tax arrears, submit an application for confirmation of overpayment, for offsetting the overpayment or tax refund towards other liabilities. Submit a notification of committing a prohibited act (so-called active complaint), a ZAW-NR notification, or a ZAP-3 notification. You can gain access to submitted and received documents, payment history and information about granted powers of attorney.

The platform also ensures full transactionality (including through electronic online payments) for all available e-services and functionalities.

Necessary consent for electronic communication with the office

Via e-Office you can receive and submit letters to Tax Offices and the National Tax Administration. In order for companies, foundations and associations to use the platform, they must first agree to conduct correspondence in electronic form.

New “Settlements” service

The new “Settlements” service is now available in the e-Tax Office. Thanks to the e-Tax Office, you can check not only your transfers to the tax office account, but also the balance of overpayments and tax arrears. The service will provide taxpayers with support in correctly preparing their tax returns. Taxpayers will gain full control over their settlements with the tax office. They can at any time check when and what declarations and tax returns they submitted, their settlement, payments made (including interest charged), refunds made and other settlement details, including information about incorrect declarations.

In your own account in the E-Tax Office you can also find information about notices and enforcement titles issued by the tax office, as well as about payments that were not credited to the correct account due to incorrect description.

The new “Settlement” service is very helpful. Thanks to it, you can view settlements with the tax office broken down into individual taxes and verify balances and check the details of settlements with the tax office. The new service is a convenient solution for entities that have many similar settlements, but also for people who rarely have contact with taxes and do not remember their settlements.
